Young wrestlers stand out at local tournament

The first of two off-season wrestling tournaments was at Mitchell High School earlier this month with wrestlers of all ages from Mitchell County and the Western Carolina Wrestling Club dominating the competition. 

Wrestlers from North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee were all part of the action. The results are as follows.

Western Carolina Wrestling Club meets each Monday and Thursday at Mitchell High. High school sessions are 5-6:30 p.m. with youth and beginners from 6:30-7:45 p.m. The next event at Mitchell High is the Blacklight Bash, set for May 13.
