Clyde Bartlett, 82, of the South Toe Community, passed away Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at the Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Avery and Lockie Smith Bartlett.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Jean Johnson Bartlett, who passed away in 2006; an infant daughter, Wanda; and siblings, Lewis, Ellen Lola, Lee, Landon and Carl.
Clyde was a master carpenter all his life and could build anything from a toy box to a three-story hotel, and did. He enjoyed his family most of all. Clyde was a loving pawpaw, daddy, son and brother. He was a loving caregiver to his deceased wife for many years and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his children, Randy (Diana), Karen (Doug) and Jerry (Sharon); three grandchildren, Michelle (Brent), Jeremy (Brittany) and Seth (Charity); a sister, Louise Bishop, of Hickory; and a very special friend, Pauline Livingston, of Newdale.
Funeral services were 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. The Rev. Holt Whitson Jr. and Bobby Justice officiated. Burial was in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
