William Stephen Bratton
GAFFNEY, SOUTH CAROLINA -- William Stephen Bratton, 68, of 172 Stroupe Estate Road, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his residence.
Born in Gaffney, he was the husband of Susan Lee Bratton and son of the late Rev. Troy A. Bratton and Osteen Humphries Bratton. He was a graduate of Boiling Springs High School, Isothermal Community College and retired from Alcoa. He was an avid Gaffney Indian fan and South Carolina Gamecock fan, member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and loved his family dearly, especially his grandsons.
Mr. Bratton was a member of Abingdon Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, former senior citizen director and music director.
Surviving is a son, Steve Bratton, and wife, Kathy Jo, of Gaffney; a brother, the Rev. Jack Bratton, and wife, Rachel, of Gaffney; a sister, Beverly Martin, and husband, the Rev. Rick, of Rock Hill; two grandchildren, Bo Bratton and Max Bratton; and several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Abingdon Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Wood and Mr. Steve Allison officiating. Interment is in Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
