According to Mitchell Wrestling, the Lady Mountaineers led the charge in day two at the Great Smoky Mountain Grapple, with three of four Lady Mountaineer placing and the girls team finishing 15th out of 35 teams.
Freshman Jayceemae Erwin worked her way to the finals and finished second.
Katie Stowe has now made it to the podium two years in a row, earning a third-place finish, and sophomore Sophie Robertson battled her way to a fifth place showing.
According to their coaches, the varsity men wrestled hard as well, and although no one placed, several did win matches on day two.
The JV wrestlers also had their turn on the mats, with Fermin Garcia finishing fourth and Jeremy Holtsclaw finishing sixth.
The Mitchell Wrestling Mountaineers will take a break from competition until January 3rd, when they return to action at Mooresville High.
