LEDGER — Nearly 150 wrestlers from five states flocked to Mitchell High School recently for the 2025 Blacklight Bash Wrestling Tournament, hosted by Western Carolina Wrestling Club and Mitchell Wrestling.

This is the fourth year of the event at Mitchell High School, and each year the event has grown larger and more diverse. Wrestlers from many surrounding counties were joined by wrestlers from as far away as Alabama for a full day of wrestling action in the unique blacklight setting.

Nearly 20 wrestlers from Mitchell county were part of Saturday’s event, with several claiming first place medals. They included Bryson McFalls, Noah Burke, Yeshua Guardian, Cullen Sparks, and Katie Stowe. Several other Mitchell wrestlers earned other medals.
